If any two people deserve some credit for being calm under extreme pressure, it’s these two KLTA news anchors—Megan Henderson and Chris Schauble. At the time, they were both working as broadcast journalists at KLTA in Los Angeles.
During their report on that fateful day, they sensed that something was amiss. Immediately after, Schauble explained to his co-anchor that they were having an earthquake. Anyone else would have lost their cool at that point. But instead, Henderson and Schauble hid under the news desk while waiting for the Magnitude -4.4 quake to pass. No one taught that at journalism school.
