Children had to participate in the system, either at the behest of their parents or their environment. They had gangs to join and others to contest with for turf. The future looked bleak for most youth growing up in the project or ghettos. Tupac was well aware of the harsh reality his kin had to face and urged them to deject hate, so they start working on themselves.
