Cricket has gone full circle and is no longer regarded as a male-dominated game. The majority of countries have an established professional women’s cricket squad. We’re certainly not the best cricket supporters, but after coming across this image, we might wind up watching more cricket matches.
It’s encouraging to see women take on even minor parts in such games. This woman, for instance, may not be a cricket player, not by a mile, but her involvement is an honor. Congratulations to whoever came up with the brilliant concept of having her toss the first pitch of the game. We hope the move had the intended effect.
