Here Are The Luxury Houses Of America’s Funniest Comedians That Left Us Speechless

Johnny Carson – Malibu, $65.2 Million

If we need proof of how successful Johnny Carson was when still alive, this former estate of his would be it. The Point Dume property, currently owned by fashion mogul Sidney Kimmel, went up for sale with an original asking price of $81.5 million, then lowered by around 20% later on. Nevertheless, it was a giant leap from how much the TV legend bought the home in 1984.

Carson paid $9.5 million for the opulent oceanfront estate in Malibu and called it home for two decades. The property is on four acres of land, with a 7,083-square-foot main house that boasts of nothing but luxury. Records show that Kimmel bought the estate from the host’s widow for $46 million.

Joan Rivers – New York, $38 Million

Not only was Joan Rivers famous for her ability to make people laugh, but the comedian was also known for living in an Upper East End penthouse that is as lavish as the celebrity was. Even now, years after her passing, Joan’s former house is still making waves on the market, costing a whopping $38 million.

So what makes this mansion spectacular? The 5,200-square-foot three-story apartment is a neo-French Classic-style mansion that features a living room with a fireplace and soaring windows. There’s also the music room, library and two terraces, but the highlight of the house is the dining and ballroom where the ‘Fashion Police’ host threw a lot of grand parties.

Jon Stewart – Colts Neck, $4 Million

Jon Stewart’s Colts Neck home and animal sanctuary is everything beautiful and then some more. The former ‘Daily Show’ host and his author and animal rights activist wife Tracey built the farm as a safe place for them to care for rescued farm animals and grow crops. The Hockhockson farm includes two-bedroom cottages, a pond, a pool, and an arena.

It also boasts a five-car garage, a farm stand area, six barns, sixteen stalls, five pastures, and five paddocks. The Stewarts haven’t made much adjustment to the $4 million property and have instead retained its original vintage vibe both inside and outside, making it the most beautiful sanctuary we’ve seen in a while!

Matthew Perry – Pacific Palisades, $6 Million

‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry is one to go all out with his property purchases, as we’ve seen in his Los Angeles penthouse and Malibu beach mansion. Now he’s been left with a Pacific Palisades cottage that though not as grand as the former ones, is just as cool and gorgeous. The $6 million 3000 sq. Ft LA cottage is the perfect escape from his New York apartment and the busy world at large.

The mid-century perch is as old as 1965 but was renovated to have striking features like floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the Pacific Coast and Catalina Island. It has the coziest of a pool and fire pit on the outside that is just as inviting as the inside.

David Letterman – New York, $10 Million

Widely regarded as one of the greatest comedians of all time, David Letterman is an outright legend of the laugh industry, with several awards under his belt. The television host made history when he became the longest-serving late-night show host, handling over 6,000 episodes of ‘Late Show’ and ‘Late Night.’

Letterman spends time on his 108-acre property when he’s not working, which holds his eight-bedroom and seven-bathroom colonial style home. There’s a lot of space where the producer’s family can do anything they want, including camping, and we wonder what other amenities the star has on the vast estate, considering that he hasn’t let the cameras in yet.
