Laugh Your Heart Out at These 40 Photos of Wedding Guests Doing the Most Hilarious Things
Taking a Tumble
Considering that many of the examples above have been of guests, children, and members of the bridal train, we should end this with a flop from the person behind the lens. Here, the photographer had assembled the newlyweds, groomsmen, and bridesmaids for a group photo.
But judging from the angle, it appears they or the equipment took an unexpected tumble just as the photo was taken. Thankfully, it caught the looks of shock on everyone’s faces. But on a closer inspection, you’ll find one or two women who find the whole thing very amusing. There’s also one man in the back who looks unfazed.
A Little Rain Never Hurt Anyone
All this woman wanted was to pose for a great shot with the stunning beach behind her. But a storm came and ruined her chance. And even the umbrella in her hand couldn’t protect her from getting completely soaked. It’s a good thing she was able to make light of the situation. Anyone else could have burst into tears.
Interestingly, there’s a common belief in Italian and Hindu traditions that rain on the big day signifies good luck. Apparently, a wet knot is hard to untie. So when a couple ties the knot on a rainy day, their union doesn’t easily break.
Too Hot to Handle
Lake Como, Jamaica, Amalfi Coast, and Ibiza in Spain are just a few of the most popular destination wedding locations. But anyone planning to have their special day in a tropical area ought to be adequately prepared to deal with the weather, especially if they’re more used to colder climates.
This lady must have been excited to attend this event in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, a place known to experience extremely high humidity year-round. Maybe she got that memo. Perhaps she didn’t. But she didn’t count on sweating buckets during the affair. Luckily, the electric fan helped cool her down a bit.
Fixing a Wedgie
Maybe one day, clothing manufacturers will come up with panties that sit nicely on the body rather than sliding up and constituting a nuisance. But until that day comes, pictures like this will remain commonplace. After all, who can say they’ve never been caught in a similar situation as these two women?
They were probably moving to a new location to pose for a new set of pictures. But they should have been more aware of the person trailing behind them. Though the lensman isn’t to blame as he was only doing his job, no one would enjoy getting caught fixing a wedgie.
Switching Sides
At some point, we all have to agree the veils are the villains of the story. This woman looks radiant in that sleeveless gown with embroidered details, and her tresses have been styled to perfection. She knows she’s the star of the show and her smile says as much.
But looking to the right, it’s obvious the weather had different plans for the man. Of course, his suit looks well-fitted, and the white boutonniere on his lapel adds a nice touch. But the soft tulle draped around him makes it difficult for anyone to appreciate his outfit. It’s almost as if the wind wanted them to switch looks.
Baby Bombing
No matter how skilled a person is with a lens, it’s impossible to control every aspect of a snapshot. New York City photographer David Perlman had all the ingredients for a magnificent group portrait. The bridesmaids were standing in a straight line, and no one was in the other’s spot.
And best of all, they also appeared to be having a great time. But just as Perlman clicked the shot, this woman came hurrying past with a baby in a stroller. Props to her for trying her best to get out of the way quickly. But the damage had been done.
Dance Your Heart Out
Nobody knows what exactly is happening here, but they both seem to be having fun, so good for them. On a closer look, though, it seems like the male equivalent of the bouquet toss, where the groom removes his wife’s garter underneath her gown and then tosses it into the crowd.
But that seems a little far-fetched, considering that the wife is sitting and the man faces the crowd as he dances. Another theory is that the man is trying to sit in the woman’s lap, but she is trying to take off her boots because they’re a bit uncomfortable.
Not Like the Movies
Romantic comedies have set such a high standard for relationships. And sadly, this man falls short in this instance. We’ve all seen that picturesque scene with the starry-eyed couple gazing into each other’s eyes as soft music plays in the background.
Then in a fit of heated passion, the man lifts up his beau and carries her effortlessly, maybe throwing in a little twirl. Dan here appears to have missed the mark, and he’s lucky he didn’t mistakenly drop his wife. But they can always look back at this moment and have a good laugh over how scared Katie looks.
Get a Shirt, Maybe?
Ben Lau must have encountered a fair share of photobombs throughout his career as a wedding photographer. But something about these shirtless guys ruining the moment sent him off the deep end. So he made sure to post this on Instagram, adding that he’d made up a new rule—if people were going to mess up his shoot, he would make them famous.
Somehow we think these men wouldn’t mind the fame. Our opinion may have something to do with how unapologetic they appear even after stepping in front of the newlyweds and their entourage. Just look at the smile on the bearded one’s face.
Veil on the Go
The veil has to be one of the most unpredictable parts of a woman’s beautiful attire. It’s usually made of flimsy material, so it’s easy to manipulate. But this becomes the problem when it’s not a human but some other factor, like the wind, doing the manipulating.
This pic by New York photographer Sascha Reinking shows a beautiful couple posing in a distinguished setting. But the gossamer fabric appears to be stuck in the elevator, making this less of a romantic affair and a more potentially dangerous one. It’s funny, no doubt, but hopefully, that elevator remained in place until they got the stuck fabric out.
Blowing Chunks
Being a wedding photographer means being privy to the most romantic scenes and sometimes also the most laughable. This picture certainly falls on the latter end of the spectrum. It could have been a lovely photo with the children and the couple in matching outfits, but the little girl had a little too much excitement. And the events of the day gave her an upset stomach.
The man came to the rescue, holding on to the little girl as she did her business, but the newly married woman couldn’t stop laughing at how awkward the moment was. And from the boys’ expressions, they find the entire thing a bit embarrassing.
On the Fringe
This one requires a bit of a backstory, and we’re eager to provide the gist. The lady in black, who looks like she’d rather be anywhere else, is the mother-in-law of the blushing bride. And the man right next to her happens to be her ex-husband. So it’s easy to see why she would rather stand a few inches away.
When Keira Agostinho posted the hilarious snap on her Instagram page, she added an assurance that her husband’s mother is a sweet woman by nature. Of course, that’s not in question. We only wish she was having a good time like everyone else.
This Isn’t Fun
Fay Ann Jones had a plan for her special day. She had spent the previous months making sure that nothing could go wrong. She had booked the venue, the cake was ready, and all guests had received their invitations. The snapper and videographer also had clear instructions to capture every detail of the memorable event.
But Ann had one more wish. She wanted to take many pictures with her husband and newborn baby Erin. Sadly, Erin wanted no part in those particular plans. And so, every single professional photo taken that day featured a newly wedded pair and a crying infant.
Okay, I’m Done
Images like this are fun because they show how we did different things in the past compared to now. Because though these styles of clothing with full sleeves were common in the ’80s and ’90s, we cannot say the same for recent times.
In fact, other photos on this list have shown that sleeveless dresses seem to be in vogue. But enough about fashion, we’re more interested in the little boy lying at the bottom right. Now an adult, Daryl Manese has since revealed that he ruined the shot because he was sick of posing and couldn’t take it anymore.
Excited to Be Here
Gone are the days when people barred pets from attending their owner’s nuptials. Now, every dog, cat, and bunny is welcome to sit and watch as the fortunate couples tie the knot. And if they’re lucky, they also get to pose for a photo or two.
But not all pets can be well-behaved. So it’s always a gamble to bring one along to an important ceremony such as this. We can almost imagine the look on the guests’ faces as this dog decided to show off its flexibility while the couple exchanged their vows. Nobody likes an attention seeker, doggo.
Canine Interlopers
It’s easy to appreciate the aesthetic appeal of photos taken in the middle of the street. But the actual logistics and behind-the-scenes must be so chaotic. This image is a perfect example of what happens when people decide to take portraits right in the middle of a busy road.
What should have been a lovely shot of these suited men became incredibly tricky when some dog walkers attempted to cross with a pack of dogs. Luckily, the couple didn’t mind the interruption at all, and it even made for a pretty spontaneous snap. You can tell that they’re both dog lovers.
Tongue in Cheek
No one can argue that the couple tying the knot are the main characters here, and no one can steal the spotlight. But we live for the entertaining minor characters, AKA guests, who add a touch of humor to the whole affair. Those people deserve a lot of praise because how else would we have photos like this to laugh over?
The lensman must have been quick on their feet to capture this unexpected moment when a guest let her tongue peek out of her mouth. This is a reminder to always be on our best behavior whenever there’s a camera around.
Oops! He’s Heavy
On national sibling day in 2020, Mellissa Joan Hart shared this funny family photo, and it’s clear why this happens to be a family favorite. Believe it or not, everyone here is related. So here we have Melissa and her six sisters attempting to hold up their brother on his big day and failing woefully.
The poor guy was this close to falling on his face. But even though the girls couldn’t hold in their laughter, they still managed to hold on to him before he hit the ground. And in case you were wondering, Hart is the star of the popular series “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.”
Almost Made It
Bridesmaids have a long list of duties they get to perform during the ceremony. So no, it’s not all looking nice and posing to get a picture taken. They provide emotional support to the friend getting married at all times, coordinating her look, arrival, and the main event.
But if we had to sum it up, their primary duty is to ensure that the lady of the hour comes out looking good. So this woman in purple kept that in mind as she fluffed up the gorgeous ensemble to make it look like it was floating. David Perlman captured this shot of her racing out of the way.
Odd One Out
Group photos like this are so entertaining because there’s always so much happening at once. The two boys at the right are giving the cameraman their best smiles. Then we have the smiling mother whose infant seems more interested in the corsage on her wrist than the pacifier in his mouth.
On the left, we’re all wondering what the boy and the lady dressed in navy hues were so excited about. And the man with the child really ought to have looked behind to find what the baby found so fascinating. But the spotlight is on the little man below playing with pants.
Smile for What?
This is nothing special, just another photo of a child who looks like he’d rather be anywhere else. We wonder what it is about marriage ceremonies that always seem to bring out the worst in the little ones. Maybe it’s because they must act all prim and proper for hours on end while the adults have all the fun.
When Kylie Hodge posted this on Instagram, she was good enough to explain the situation. It turns out Henry fell down a bank right before the image was taken and got his shirt dirty. He wasn’t too happy that he had to take it off.
Blurred Recollection
Wedding books are all the rage now. Unlike regular photo albums that were common in the past, these come with a more modern design, thinner pages, and much better quality. Most couples are also drawn to creating a book with compelling storytelling and an equally unique design.
Leslie and Bill Simmons were sold on this idea when they contracted a company to make a book for their special day. So how come the finished product blurred out parts of Bill’s face? We can only imagine the disappointment of paying good money only to receive what appears to be a half-finished product.
Very on Theme
Here’s another reminder that children do not understand the significance of marriage ceremonies. So they hardly get why the adults concerned always strive for perfection. A child is a simple being with simple needs that can all be narrowed down to eating, crying, and sleeping. It’s, therefore, unsurprising that this baby looks so unbothered.
The little lad threw up on daddy’s shoulder, but he was good enough to keep it in line with the black-and-white theme. Let’s hope the man wasn’t too offended. After all, a few swipes of a wet wipe should have been enough to remedy the situation.
You’re in My Shot
Take a moment to appreciate the stunning visuals in this image. The sky looks like it was painted on, and the building in the background creates an impressive backdrop for the woman in white. But the grass should also not be left out. Such vibrant green deserves some appreciation too.
Every element was in place to create an incredible picture. But all that changed once a man with his shirt half off and the little girl stepped in. Just the typical struggle of an everyday photographer, probably. Hopefully, they got to take some good shots before uninvited guests stepped in.
Another Veil Mishap
Are we surprised to see another veil mishap? Not quite. But this time, the victim is a member of the bridal train. Of course, now’s as good a time as any to explore this accessories history. Because unlike the choice of white for nuptials, a fashion trend set by Britain’s Queen Victoria, these head coverings carry a lot of religious and historical symbolism.
Some believe that women wore them to disguise themselves from evil eyes while shielding themselves from their husbands until they exchanged vows. Similarly, many wear them to signify modesty and obedience. But this one pictured right here is simply a menace.
Holding in a Sneeze
We have no idea what people threw into the air here, but something tells us that it may have triggered this handsome man’s allergies. His wife doesn’t appear to share his struggles. No, she’s too busy laughing. Now we’d all like to be in on the joke.
Charlotte’s happiness aside, another popular tradition during nuptials is throwing confetti. The custom can be traced back to the middle ages when people used it to wish the newlyweds a lifetime of luck. But it’s not always brightly colored paper or rose petals that get thrown. In some cultures, the guests throw wheat, candy, and rice as well.
Happy to Be Here
Ordinarily, we would be a little upset that this man on a bike made his way into the photo. But he looks so happy to be here, so we’ll save the criticisms for a later time. He may also be holding up the peace sign as a salute to the person behind the lens. That is a nice way to say, “I see the work you’re doing.” Maybe?
The couple looks so unbothered as well. And the bright lights of the city only serve to highlight the woman’s lavish gown and her partner’s dapper suit. No one could ever deny that Sascha Reinking works magic with a camera.
What’s this, Deer?
This couple chose the perfect location to shoot their pre-nuptial photos. The clear skies, rolling hills, and lush greenery all come together to create a setting right out of a fairy tale. But let us address the elephants in the room or the deers in that case because they appear to be very curious about the gear before them.
Imagine setting up a camera on a tripod and adjusting the settings until you’re satisfied. Only to have a pair of deers walk up to the setup and ruin the shot. Except they didn’t ruin it, did they? This is another photobomb we’re not mad at.
She Hit the Floor
When Flo Rida released his debut single “Low” featuring T Pain in 2007, he was singing about this woman right here. We live for moments like this when the main event is over and it’s time to break out the drinks. That’s when the real party starts, and everyone gets to enjoy guests doing the weirdest things.
It’s impossible to say whether this lady had drunk a little too much or she was inventing a new dance step. But the gentleman was prepared to hold her back just in case she hurt herself. With such clear evidence, she’d never be able to live this moment down.
Toast Done Wrong
We just talked about confetti. So everyone must be clued into the fact that it’s common practice to sprinkle rose petals, grains, and candy on a couple after they exchange vows. But nobody said anything about throwing drinks over them. So this must be a relatively new tradition.
A better explanation would be that the man was trying to raise his glass in a toast, but somehow his hands moved just a little too fast. Even if that was the case, it’s entirely possible that the couple wouldn’t be too excited to sign off the ceremony with beer-soaked expensive clothing.
Laughter and Chaos
This has to be the most chaotic photo on the list. We wonder whose great idea it was to include that many kids in a single shot. Have we learned nothing from the past? It’s a relief the newly married pair appear to be in good spirits. Because somehow, their laughter makes up for the other expressions on the kids’ faces.
The children in their arms are crying their eyes out. And the other girl below has her arms outstretched like she’s asking to be rescued by a passerby. The other girl on the ground has also caught the crying bug. And everyone else looks curious, bored, or confused.
Raging Bull
It’s not a bad idea to exchange vows on a farm. After all, it would make a very picturesque location to celebrate with a crowd of friends and families. But with every good comes some bad. And a drawback of planning an event on a farm is the danger of running into a bull.
Of course, in this case, the bull is the one doing the running. Neither the man nor the woman was expecting an attack. But one wonders what was going through the mind of the person behind the lens. Did they at least try to call for help?
Sink or Swim
This party had to rely on survival instincts when the dock they were standing on suddenly collapsed, plunging them all into the water. Of course, when Dan and Jackie Anderson planned to host a ceremony in Crosslake, Minnesota, they didn’t envision this turn of events.
Guess it’s true what they say. Life is what happens when you’re too busy living. So while everyone was busy posing on the jetty, the dock decided that it had had enough and proceeded to break down. Luckily, the guests were able to make their way out of the water and dry off before regrouping.
Curiosity Personified
If there was ever a visual description of the phrase “curiosity killed the cat,” this would be it. Kitty here must have wondered what that couple was up to, so it decided to stroll over and do some investigating. It’s very amusing that it chose to stand in the way, giving the camera a clear glimpse of its back profile instead of looking directly into the lens.
Some cats bite their owners when they want attention. But instead of resorting to such means, this kitty decided to get attention by blocking the couple’s shot. It’s clearly the main character of this story.
A Waste of a Good Drink
Being on a bridal train can be fun, but some disadvantages come with the role. The good is that you get a chance to be a supportive friend. But the bad is that it’s a lot of work. Everything from organizing showers and mini parties to ensuring that every guest is well taken care of is sure to take a toll on anyone.
Because these ladies’ situation is so understandable, we’re willing to cut them some slack. If what they need to recover from the stress of the day is a glass or three, then let them drink. But the wine deserves better than to be spilled.
Crashing Cake
The cake holds a special place at every marriage ceremony. This is why people often go to great lengths to ensure that their cake looks good and tastes just as great. In recent times though, cakes have moved from being a dish to symbolize good fortune to becoming a centerpiece during nuptials.
But even if the guests never get to enjoy a piece or two, the act of cutting the cake remains special to the couple. But disaster befell this duo as they approached the cake. The man even looks more distraught than his partner. No doubt the baker would have a lot to answer to.
Off With Their Heads
This is no crashing cake but isn’t it just as bad? The figures sitting on the top layer represent the people tying the knot. So for someone to rip their heads off, it just casts a gloomy shadow over the whole affair. It could be that someone fussed with the decorations and caused the damage by mistake. But what if this was done on purpose?
And anyone familiar with Lewis Caroll’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” or its film adaptations would know the phrase “Off with their Heads.” Could it be that the fictional Queen of Hearts was present at the nuptials?
What’s Happening Here?
This is like a scene out of a romantic comedy. It’s that time when an errant bridesmaid imbibes a little too much and ends up passed out on the floor. But she sure chose the wrong place to fall asleep. And that lady at the far left looks like she’s resisting the urge to kick her feet.
As funny as this looks, it’s also a bit concerning. Shouldn’t the newlyweds have noticed something disturbing happening? It also looks like a man is standing before the couple. It’s difficult to believe that he also didn’t realize that a woman was lying at his feet.
Swan Lake Take
“Swan Lake” is the title of the famous ballet composed by the iconic Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky between 1876 to 1876. It tells the story of a Prince who encounters a flock of swans on a hunting trip and falls in love with the ‘Swan Queen.’ But while that classic story paints a hauntingly beautiful love story, this picture is much more humorous.
If this combative bird is indeed a Swan Queen, then she’s very opposed to the woman standing close to her groom. The shocked bride also looks prepared to defend herself against the unexpected attack using the bouquet of flowers.
