High school sweethearts aren’t just for movies, and Ron Howard proved it when he met Cheryl Howard as a teenager in 1970. He was already on TV in “The Andy Griffith Show,” while she was a budding writer with big dreams of her own. By 1975, they were married and started a life together that included raising four children, among them actress Bryce Dallas Howard.
Their bond has traveled with him from child star to Oscar-winning director, with Cheryl by his side at every red carpet. He once shared that their very first date was to see a re-release of “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.”
