Before red carpets and Marvel fame, Benedict Cumberbatch met Sophie Hunter while working on the 2009 film “Burlesque Fairytales.” Their friendship simmered for years before turning into romance, and by 2014, the two were officially a couple. That same year, they announced their engagement most classically, through the newspaper.
In 2015, they married on the Isle of Wight in a private ceremony, just before welcoming their first son, Christopher. Two more boys, Hal and Finn, followed in 2017 and 2019. Sophie, a theater director and performer, has her own creative career, while Benedict often praises her as his greatest collaborator.
