With an eye-watering net worth of $2.2 billion, Koch made headlines in the art world in 2015, when he sold his Pablo Picasso “La Gommeuse” painting for an astounding $67.45 million.
Koch bought the painting for “just” $3 million in the mid-’80s and only then discovered that the canvas featured a second Picasso artwork in the back! The Koch Industries magnate got lucky and ended up landing one of the most profitable art-market deals in recent history.
