Abkhazia is a small nation in the South Caucasus; it is considered an independent state, but the World Atlas claims it is a part of Georgia. Despite its rich but painful history of battling Georgia from 1994 to 2003, this region still maintains its independence.
However, the European Court of Human Rights ruled in 2010 that Abkhazian authorities violated human rights by displacing ethnic Georgians in the region. The displacement led to the abandonment of many structures, including Gali College. Over time, this college has become a lush garden, creating a picturesque view that looks like it was taken from a movie.
