The sculpture in this picture is called “The Gentle Giant Who Shares And Cares,” created by James Boyle, a former gangster turned artist and author. For anyone who has watched the fantasy film “The Wizard of Oz,” this sculpture reminds us of the Tin Man.
Boyle transformed after his release from prison in 1981. He abandoned his criminal ways and discovered his passion for sculpture, leading him to pursue a successful career in the arts. His life story was even used as the inspiration for a character in the film “The Debt Collector.” Despite its resemblance to the Tin Man, this sculpture represents Boyle’s newfound commitment to compassion and care.
