Having pursued a degree in law from Indiana University’s Robert H McKinney Law School, Mike Pence practiced law and eventually became a politician. Although he was unsuccessful in his initial attempts in running for Congress, he eventually won the first election in 2000 and served till 2012. Pence served as Governor of Indiana in 2013 and ultimately became the Vice President alongside former President Donald Trump in 2017.
The 48th Vice President made a large chunk of his $1 million fortune from politics. His average salary as governor of Indiana was about $173,860. Upon leaving office, his state and federal pensions amount to $85K per year for the rest of his life, which is no doubt good money to fall back on.
