Gestern Stars, Heute noch VIPs: Die Zeit scheint für diese Promis still zu stehen
Nina Hagen, 1957, East Berlin
Defamation and Angela Merkel: These seem to be the two buzzwords that Nina Hagen will have as a protagonist from 2020 to 2022. But Hagen is much more, it’s not for nothing that she’s the punk icon of madness, color and, above all, her voice. Rebellious and creative, Hagen still sings the feminist and socially critical songs that once made her what she is. Her pen was rich in texts, which she often wrote on the streets of Berlin, and now she seems to have retired from the stage. But her voice is still able to effortlessly cover four octaves and suffocate the work in a scream with that rebellious and creative power that made her simply unique.
Catherine Thalbach, 1956, Berlin

If acting is not just a job, but a passion and purpose in life, there is a risk that you “want to die on stage,” said Thalbach in an interview, who, even after 60 years of career, is not looking for the applause or recognition of the audience, but personal satisfaction. And though the years have passed, she has remained the same, with the same bravado and talent as in her early days as an actress, director and voice actress with ‘Judged by Night’ (1960), which was followed by no fewer than 177 films. In 2022 she will take part as “Poirot” in the play “Mord im Orientexpress”, to which she will also accompany the cabaret “Love in Times of Hatred” in Berlin.
JUTTA SPEIDEL, 1954, MUNICH
Some of you will surely remember Jutta Speidel as the rebellious nun from the popular series “For Heaven’s Sake”, a role the actress played in the 2000s. Jutta can now look back on a career spanning almost 50 years. She became known through the television film “The Last Holiday”, which was first broadcast in 1975.

Jutta was also able to make a name for herself internationally. She owes this to the thriller “Fleisch”, which was released four years later and deals with organ trafficking. Jutta is still active as an actress and appears both on television and in the theatre. In 2020, for example, she was on stage for the comedy “Lippenrot”.
KATHRIN ACKERMANN, 1938, WIESBADEN
Despite her advanced age, Kathrin Ackermann does not seem to be thinking about retiring. In 2022, for example, she could be seen in a guest role in the crime series “Hubert without Staller”. Kathrin began her career at the end of the 1950s on the theater stages of the republic.

At the same time, she also began shooting for television. Kathrin gained particular notoriety as the mother of Commissioner Charlotte Lindholm (“Tatort”), played by Maria Furtwängler. But Maria is actually Kathrin’s real daughter! Also, some will know Kathrin’s voice very well, as she lent the voice to Peggy Bundy (Katey Segal) from “A Terrible Nice Family” in the German dubbing.
PETER KRAUS, 1939, MUNICH
If anyone embodies Rock’n’Roll in Germany, it’s Peter Kraus. The singer and actor was discovered during one of his concert appearances in Munich in 1956. Soon Peter was one of the most well-known German-language rock’n’roll singers and teenagers adored the man from Munich. From the 1960s, Peter changed the music genre and was able to successfully establish himself as a cuddly singer.

At the same time that the singer’s music career was taking off, Peter also began appearing in films and television. The man from Munich doesn’t seem to be thinking about quitting. In 2021 Peter was part of “The Masked Singer”. In 2022 his new studio album “Idole” was released. Rock’n’Roll keeps you young forever!
